Hero MotoCorp has announced plans to expand its operations into the United Kingdom and Europe under its Vida brand in the second half of 2025. The expansion will be led by the Vida Z electric scooter, marking Hero’s entry into the European market. The Vida Z will be the first product launched in the UK and Europe, followed by Hero’s premium motorcycles, including the Xtreme 250R, Karizma XMR 250, and Xpulse 210.
Hero’s Global Expansion Plans:
Vida Z: This electric scooter will lead Hero MotoCorp’s entry into the European market. The Vida Z will be designed with global riders in mind, featuring a mix of advanced features and appealing styling that will cater to diverse markets, including Europe and Latin America.
Premium Motorcycle Lineup: Hero will follow up the Vida Z launch with premium motorcycles such as the Xtreme 250R, Karizma XMR 250, and Xpulse 210, which will also be targeted at European and UK markets.
Current Operations: Hero MotoCorp already has a technology center in Germany and distribution partnerships in Italy (Pelpi International S.r.l.), Spain (Noria Motos SLU), France (GD France), and the UK (MotoGB UK).
Exports and Global Business: Hero MotoCorp’s export share currently stands at 3.9% of its total revenue, but the company sees significant growth potential in international markets. The automaker is active in 48 countries, with a market share of 5.8% in exports, and it plans to continue growing its presence in both mature and emerging markets.
Electric Vehicle Strategy: Hero MotoCorp is also expanding its electric mobility offerings, with the Vida V1 already available in 100 cities across India. The company plans to introduce four electric models in India by the end of the financial year to capture a larger share of the growing electric two-wheeler market.
Other Global Initiatives:
Brazil: Hero has set up a subsidiary in Brazil, focusing on manufacturing and distributing two-wheelers, including parts and accessories.
Southeast Asia: The company has made significant progress in Southeast Asia, with a notable presence in the Philippines and a new assembly facility in Nepal. In Bangladesh, Hero is focusing on expanding into the premium segment.
