News Story

Honda has unveiled its updated 2024 Africa Twin model lineup, bringing several exciting changes to both Adventure Sports and standard variants. These updates enhance the touring capabilities of the Adventure Sports model, making it more appealing to riders seeking long-distance adventures.

Common Updates

Before diving into the model-specific changes, here are the common updates shared by both bikes:

Revised Front Fairing Design: Both the Adventure Sports and standard models feature a refreshed front fairing design, adding a touch of sophistication to their aesthetics.

Increased Torque: Honda has fine-tuned the Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) gearbox, making it smoother in the first two gears. Additionally, the engine’s compression ratio has been slightly increased, resulting in a peak torque figure of 112Nm delivered at 5,500 rpm, up from 103Nm at 6,250rpm.

Adjustable Front Windscreen: Both bikes now come equipped with a new 5-step adjustable front windscreen, offering improved wind protection for riders.

Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports: Touring-Friendly

For the Adventure Sports model, one of the standout updates is the introduction of a 19-inch front wheel. This change enhances the bike’s touring capabilities, catering to riders who embark on long journeys on well-paved roads. The front tire size has also been adjusted to 110/80-19, departing from the slimmer 90/90-21 tire of the previous model.

The European-spec Africa Twin Adventure Sports offers an adjustable seat height range of 835mm to 855mm. This variation is achieved through the use of 15mm thicker foam in the seat. It’s important to note that the Indian-spec Africa Twin previously featured lowered suspension, reducing the seat height to 810mm to 830mm. Whether the 2024 model continues this trend in India remains to be seen.

The outgoing Africa Twin Adventure Sports is priced between Rs 16.02 lakh and Rs 17.56 lakh (ex-showroom, India). With the 2024 model’s arrival, price adjustments can be expected.

Honda Africa Twin Base: Enhanced Features

The standard Africa Twin model introduces some noteworthy enhancements:

Electronic Suspension Option: Riders can now opt for the same Showa semi-active suspension as found in the Adventure Sports model, providing improved ride comfort and adaptability.

Tubeless Spoked Rims: The standard variant features tubeless spoked rims, making it significantly easier to handle punctures and repairs, a welcome addition for off-road adventures.

The availability of the standard model in India is yet to be confirmed, as it hasn’t been offered since the Africa Twin transitioned to an 1100cc model.

In conclusion, Honda’s 2024 Africa Twin line-up presents exciting updates that enhance both touring and off-road capabilities. With refined mechanics, versatile features, and improved aesthetics, these bikes are poised to deliver exhilarating adventures for riders seeking the thrill of the open road. Keep an eye out for pricing details and availability in India as the 2024 models make their debut.
