Kawasaki India has launched the updated 2026 Versys 650 at ₹8.63 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest version of the popular middleweight adventure tourer sees no mechanical or feature changes, but gains E20 fuel compatibility and a fresh dual-tone colour scheme.
The 2026 Kawasaki Versys 650 continues to be powered by the company’s 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine, producing 67hp at 8,500rpm and 61Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. Power is delivered through a 6-speed gearbox, and the bike now meets India’s latest E20 fuel standards.
Visually, the Versys 650 gets a new grey-and-black colourway with Kawasaki’s signature green accents, while the rest of the design — including the sharp fairing, tall stance, and semi-adventure proportions — remains unchanged.
Key features include a 4.3-inch full-colour TFT display, Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), an adjustable windscreen, and long-travel suspension offering 150mm travel up front and 145mm at the rear. The Versys also carries a 21-litre fuel tank and tips the scales at 220kg, giving it solid long-distance touring range and stability.
In terms of ergonomics, the 845mm seat height and 170mm ground clearance make it well-suited for Indian road conditions, though this remains a road-biased tourer rather than a full-fledged ADV.
Although it now costs ₹15,000 more than before, the Versys 650 continues to occupy a unique space in the mid-size touring segment. Its chief rivals in India include the Honda NX500 (₹6.33 lakh) and the Moto Morini X-Cape 650 (₹6.40 lakh) — both more affordable but without the Kawasaki’s proven refinement and reliability.
