Aprilia Introduces Tuono 457

News Story

One year after unveiling the RS 457 sportbike, Aprilia has now introduced the Tuono 457, its naked counterpart.

Key Features and Similarities

Engine and Performance

The Tuono 457 shares the same 457cc twin-cylinder engine as the RS 457, producing 47.6hp and 43.5Nm of torque. It also retains the 6-speed gearbox, slipper clutch, and offers an optional bidirectional quickshifter.

Frame and Cycle Parts

The Tuono 457 uses the same frame, suspension, and braking components as the RS 457, ensuring similar performance and handling.

Electronics

Electronic rider aids are identical, offering features like traction control, ABS, and other riding modes.

Differences Between the Tuono 457 and RS 457

Headlight Design

While both bikes feature triple-pod headlights, the Tuono 457 has a completely new design. The DRLs are smaller, and the central pod, which houses the main headlight, is distinct from other Aprilia models.

Fuel Tank

The Tuono 457 comes with a slightly smaller 12.7-litre fuel tank, compared to the 13-litre unit on the RS 457. However, both bikes weigh the same at 175kg.

Styling

The Tuono 457, being a naked bike, follows a different styling route compared to the sportier RS 457, which is inspired by larger Aprilia sportbikes.

Accessories and Launch

The Tuono 457 offers a variety of accessories, including saddlebags, a tank bag, brake and clutch lever protectors, sintered brake pads, and a pillion seat cowl. The made-in-India Tuono 457 is expected to be launched in India early next year, likely priced below the Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India) of the RS 457.
