BMW Motorrad has introduced a new colour option for its smallest supersport, the BMW G 310 RR. With this update, the G 310 RR now offers three colour choices: Cosmic Black 2, White with M Sport graphics, and the newly introduced Racing Blue Metallic. Despite this stylish update, the price of the bike remains unchanged at Rs 3.05 lakh (ex-showroom, India), keeping it competitive in the entry-level supersport segment.
New Racing Blue Metallic Colour Option
The standout feature of this update is the Racing Blue Metallic colour option. This new colour scheme primarily features blue, with striking red, white, and black accents, giving the bike a fresh and dynamic look. The new colour addition enhances the visual appeal of the G 310 RR, further cementing its place in the sportbike market.
Mechanically Unchanged But Still Potent
Although the BMW G 310 RR gets a new colour, it remains mechanically unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 312cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. This engine is shared with other models in BMW’s G 310 range, including the G 310 R and G 310 GS, and is also used by the TVS Apache RR 310 and RTR 310. However, the engine tune differs across these models.
In the G 310 RR, the engine produces 34hp at 9,700rpm and 27.3Nm of torque at 7,700rpm, delivering a performance that is well-suited to both city rides and sporty adventures.
Suspension and Braking System
The suspension setup on the G 310 RR is designed to provide a balanced ride, with a USD fork up front and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the rear. This ensures that riders experience both comfort and control across different riding conditions. When it comes to braking, the G 310 RR is equipped with single discs at both ends. These are supported by dual-channel ABS, offering riders enhanced safety and braking confidence.
Competitors: Facing Off Against the KTM RC 390 and TVS Apache RR 310
In the highly competitive Indian supersport market, the BMW G 310 RR goes head-to-head with rivals such as the KTM RC 390 and the TVS Apache RR 310. The KTM RC 390, priced at Rs 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), offers more aggressive performance, while the TVS Apache RR 310, available at Rs 2.49 lakh to Rs 2.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), remains an affordable and reliable alternative. Both bikes have their own strengths, but the G 310 RR stands out for its combination of BMW engineering and distinctive styling.
New Colour, Same Performance
The addition of the Racing Blue Metallic colour to the BMW G 310 RR line-up brings a refreshed look to this popular entry-level supersport bike. With no price increase and the same reliable performance, the G 310 RR continues to be a compelling option for riders seeking a stylish yet powerful machine. Its balance of design, technology, and performance ensures it remains a strong competitor in its segment.
