BMW has unveiled the production-spec BMW F 450 GS at EICMA 2025, marking it as the new entry point into BMW’s legendary GS adventure lineup. With the discontinuation of the G 310 GS, the F 450 GS takes center stage as an accessible, mid-capacity adventure machine developed in partnership with TVS Motor Company and manufactured in India.
Powering the F 450 GS is a new 420cc parallel-twin engine producing 48hp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm torque at 6,750rpm. The bike weighs 178kg kerb and features a steel tubular frame combined with a double-sided aluminium swingarm. It sports quad-LED daytime running lights inspired by the flagship R 1300 GS and is equipped with a golden-colored KYB upside-down fork and adjustable rear monoshock providing 180mm of suspension travel.
The braking setup includes a 310mm Brembo front disc with a four-piston caliper and a 240mm ByBre rear disc, supported by BMW Motorrad ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control, and Dynamic Brake Light systems for enhanced safety. The F 450 GS offers four riding modes — Rain, Road, Enduro, and Enduro Pro — adjusting ABS, traction control, and engine braking as needed.
A notable feature is the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) available on the top-spec Trophy model, which offers clutchless engagement for smoother, less tiring riding in stop-and-go traffic conditions. Multiple variants are on offer: Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and Trophy, each stepping up with features like handguards, engine guards, off-road footpegs, varied suspensions, windscreens, and heated grips.
The bike also boasts adjustable hand levers, foot brake, and gearshift levers, and a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity and USB-C charging. Two distinct paint schemes—Cosmic Black and Racing Red—are available, along with a range of BMW Motorrad Original accessories for customization, including cross-spoke wheels, windshields, luggage, and rally seats.
With a focus on rider comfort, versatility, and off-road capability, the BMW F 450 GS aims to attract a broad audience seeking a capable adventure bike with modern features and strong performance. Its India launch is anticipated soon, and the production is set to benefit from TVS’s manufacturing expertise, assuring quality and availability for Indian adventure motorcyclists.
