Ducati has introduced the DesertX Discovery variant in India at a price of Rs 21.78 lakh (ex-showroom). This adventure-ready model is a fully equipped version of the standard DesertX, featuring additional accessories and enhanced protection.

Ducati DesertX Discovery: New Features and Design

The Ducati DesertX Discovery builds upon the already capable standard DesertX with several added accessories. It now includes:

Heated grips for enhanced comfort in cold weather.

A larger touring windscreen for better wind protection.

A centre stand for convenience during maintenance.

Bull bars, radiator grille, and bash plate to protect the engine and bodywork.

Aluminium panniers for increased luggage-carrying capacity.

Aesthetically, the Discovery variant features a unique red/black/white livery that distinguishes it from the standard version. Ducati has also incorporated adhesive graphics to prevent scratches and rock chips.

Ducati DesertX Discovery: Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the DesertX Discovery retains the 937cc Testastretta L-twin engine, delivering 110hp and 92Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and features a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.

For long-haul adventure rides, the bike is equipped with a 21-litre fuel tank. Additionally, an 8-litre auxiliary fuel tank is available as an optional accessory.

Ducati has recently unveiled a new 890cc V-twin engine, which will replace the aging 937cc Testastretta motor in its middleweight lineup. However, it remains uncertain when the DesertX will transition to the new powertrain, as it is one of Ducati’s newest models featuring the 937cc engine.
