Ducati Formula 73 Revealed: Limited-Edition Tribute to Iconic 750 Super Sport Desmo

News Story

Ducati has unveiled the ultra-exclusive Formula 73, a limited-edition cafe racer celebrating the legendary 750 Super Sport Desmo – the first road-going Ducati with desmodromic valves. Limited to just 873 numbered units worldwide, this collector’s masterpiece pays homage to the 1972 200 Miglia di Imola-winning 750 Imola Desmo.

Racing Heritage Design
The Formula 73 rocks a stunning silver and aqua green livery with a vertical gold tank stripe – a functional nod to the original’s fuel-check strip. Clip-on handlebars with bar-end mirrors, half fairing, and premium finishes scream pure cafe racer DNA. Each bike features a unique serial number on the steering plate, certificate of authenticity, and a special box with period sketches from Ducati Style Centre.

803cc Desmodue Power
Powered by the familiar 803cc air-cooled Desmodue single, it delivers 73hp and 65.2Nm through a bespoke Termignoni exhaust. Hardware shines with 17-inch wheels on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires, billet aluminum levers/pegs, Rizoma fuel cap, plus advanced electronics: DTC traction control, cornering ABS, quickshifter, and riding modes.

Collector’s Package
Every Formula 73 includes an Arai collaboration helmet and matching jacket in the signature livery. This halo model joins Ducati’s elite limited-run family, positioned as the ultimate tribute to its desmo valve legacy and Paul Smart/Bruno Spaggiari’s historic Imola victory.

Ducati collectors – your grail bike just dropped. Only 873 will ever exist
