Ducati has revealed the fourth-generation Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP at EICMA 2025, celebrating 20 years since the model’s original debut. At the heart of this new iteration is the latest 890cc 90-degree V2 engine, delivering 120hp at 10,750rpm and 94Nm of torque at 8,250rpm. Despite a slight 2Nm drop in peak torque, the motor offers over 70 percent of maximum torque at just 3,000rpm, promising strong mid-range performance. The engine features spring valves which extend valve clearance intervals to 15,000km.
A key update lies in the switch to a monocoque aluminium chassis, replacing the previous steel frame, with the trellis subframe retained as a homage to Ducati’s heritage. The bike now has a double-sided swingarm for improved cornering stability. Significant weight savings have been achieved, with the standard model shedding 13kg to a wet weight of 180kg, and the SP variant losing 16kg, weighing 177kg.
The V2 rides on 17-inch wheels, with the standard version fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires and Brembo M4.32 four-piston calipers gripping twin 320mm front discs. The SP variant features forged aluminium rims, stickier Rosso IV Corsa tires, and upgrade Brembo M50 calipers. Suspension setup includes a fully adjustable 46mm Kayaba USD fork and monoshock on the standard model, with the SP sporting fully adjustable Öhlins units.
Technology-wise, the Hypermotard V2 boasts a full electronics suite powered by a 6-axis IMU, including cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, and four riding modes—Race, Sport, Road, and Wet. The new 5-inch TFT color display offers three customizable themes, enhancing rider information and interaction.
Styling upgrades include sharper LED headlights and a tail design reminiscent of the Streetfighter V4. Ducati offers the standard Hypermotard in its iconic red, while the V2 SP dons a distinctive white livery with a red “20” graphic commemorating two decades of the model.
Though the global launch is confirmed, Ducati has yet to announce a precise timeline for the Hypermotard V2’s arrival in the Indian market. Ducati enthusiasts can look forward to a lighter, sharper, and more powerful Hypermotard experience in the near future.
