Ducati Launches Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2

News Story

Ducati has revealed two new models for 2025 that feature the brand-new 890cc V-twin engine: the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2. Both bikes produce 120hp and 93.3Nm of torque, marking a shift from the previous 955cc Superquadro engine that made over 150hp.

Key Features of the Ducati Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2

Engine and Performance: Both the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 are powered by the new 890cc V-twin engine, producing 120hp and 93.3Nm of torque. This engine is a step down from the previous Superquadro engine in terms of power, but Ducati has focused on reducing weight and improving handling. The Panigale V2 S weighs 176kg, while the Streetfighter V2 S is even lighter at 175kg—significantly less than their outgoing models, which were nearing 200kg.

Frame and Suspension: Both bikes feature an aluminium monocoque frame and a conventional double-sided swingarm, replacing the previous single-sided swingarm used in the Superquadro-powered models. The S variant of both bikes comes with Ohlins suspension at both ends, while the standard version is equipped with a Marzocchi fork and a KYB monoshock.

Fuel Tank and Ergonomics: Both the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 come with a 15-litre fuel tank. The Panigale V2 has a seat height of 837mm, while the Streetfighter V2 has a slightly taller perch at 838mm.

Exhaust and Styling: The new 890cc engine comes with a twin-exit underseat exhaust, reminiscent of previous Ducati models. Both bikes share the same aggressive design, but the Streetfighter V2’s naked styling contrasts with the fully-faired Panigale V2.

Braking and Tyres: Both models are equipped with Brembo M50 monobloc calipers paired with 320mm discs. The tyres are Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4, with 120/70-ZR17 for the front and 190/55-ZR17 for the rear.

Electronics and Tech: The 2025 Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 come with a full suite of electronic rider aids, including riding modes, traction control, ABS, wheelie control, engine brake control, and a bidirectional quickshifter. An optional tech pack can unlock features like cruise control, lap timer, turn-by-turn navigation, and heated grips. All of this can be controlled through a 5-inch TFT display.

Variants and Pricing: Ducati will offer both models in standard and S variants. The standard versions come with a passenger seat, while the S variants feature a single-seat configuration. The S variants are lighter by 3kg compared to the standard versions.

Expected Launch and Pricing in India

Ducati is expected to launch the Panigale V2 and Streetfighter V2 in India in 2025, with prices likely to be lower than their outgoing versions. The Panigale V2 is currently priced at Rs 20.98 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Streetfighter V2 at Rs 18.50 lakh (ex-showroom). With the new 890cc engine, these bikes will rival the likes of Yamaha’s 890cc triple-cylinder models (R9, MT-09) and KTM’s 990cc parallel-twin bikes (990 Duke, 990 RC R).
