Honda has finally unveiled the much-awaited Activa e:, its premium electric scooter, alongside the QC1. Designed with advanced features and swappable batteries, the Activa e: is poised to revolutionize the EV segment.

Variants and Availability
The Honda Activa e: will be available in two variants:

Standard Variant: Features a 5-inch TFT display and limited Bluetooth connectivity.
RoadSync Duo Variant: Offers a 7-inch TFT display with turn-by-turn navigation and notification alerts.
Initially, the Activa e: will be available only in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, with pre-bookings starting on January 1, 2025, and deliveries scheduled for February.

Range, Battery, and Charging
The Activa e: is powered by two 1.5kWh swappable batteries, which can be replaced at Honda’s Power Pack Exchanger e: battery-swapping stations. Key specifications include:

Range: Claimed 102km on a single charge (IDC).
Top Speed: 80kph.
Performance: Accelerates from 0-60kph in just 7.3 seconds.
Honda is rolling out a phased battery-swapping network, with 83 stations in Bengaluru and plans to expand to 250 stations by 2026, ensuring a station is available within every 5km.

Design and Features
The Honda Activa e: features a sleek and premium design with crisp lines, all-LED lighting, and flush-fitting pillion footpegs. It shares components with the European CUV e: but boasts a unique design.

Storage: Limited under-seat storage but includes two front apron cubbies, one with a USB charger.
Keyless Functionality: Includes a key fob for easy access.
Riding Modes: Eco, Standard, and Sport modes, along with a reverse function.

Frame: Underbone frame with a telescopic fork and monoshock suspension.
Weight: 118kg for the Standard variant, 119kg for the RoadSync Duo variant.

Sales and Distribution Model
Honda will sell the Activa e: through its existing Red Wing dealerships, introducing a unique ‘shop-in-shop’ concept and Concept Stores in select cities. Both the Activa e: and QC1 will be manufactured at Honda’s Narsapura plant in Karnataka.

Battery-as-a-Service Model
Honda is introducing a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option, allowing customers to pay per swap. More details about this innovative service will be announced soon.
