Husqvarna Unveils Vitpilen 801: A Stylish and Aggressive Roadster

News Story

Following the earlier launch of the Svartpilen 801, Husqvarna has now introduced its counterpart, the Vitpilen 801. Both models share many similarities, including their engine, which is derived from the KTM 790 Duke. However, the Vitpilen 801 brings its own unique style and aggressive roadster characteristics to the table.

Similarities with the Svartpilen 801

The Vitpilen 801 shares its underpinnings with the Svartpilen 801, including the same powerful 799cc parallel twin engine. This engine, also used in the KTM 790 Duke, delivers an impressive 105hp at 9,250rpm and 87Nm of torque at 8,000rpm, ensuring thrilling performance for riders.

Distinct Styling and Ergonomics

While the Vitpilen 801 retains the styling cues of its sibling, it features several updates that set it apart. The front end of the motorcycle has been revised with a new LED headlamp design, giving it a sharper and more futuristic look. Additionally, the Vitpilen 801 comes with redesigned radiator shrouds and enhanced bodywork underneath the engine.

One of the key differences between the two models is the ergonomics. The Vitpilen 801 offers a more aggressive riding position, thanks to its lower handlebar and more committed rider triangle, making it ideal for enthusiasts seeking a more engaging riding experience.

Advanced Engine and Technology

The 799cc engine in the Vitpilen 801 is designed for durability and long service intervals. Husqvarna has equipped the motor with an active crankcase evacuation system and a semi-dry-sump lubrication system, resulting in an extended service interval of 15,000km.

In terms of technology, the Vitpilen 801 is loaded with features. It comes with a 5-inch TFT display that allows riders to toggle between four riding modes: Street, Sport, Rain, and Dynamic. The bike is also equipped with a host of electronic aids, including a quickshifter, cornering ABS, and cornering traction control, ensuring both performance and safety on the road.

High-Quality Components and Suspension

The Vitpilen 801 rides on adjustable WP APEX suspension, offering a premium feel and the ability to tailor the ride to individual preferences. It is fitted with Michelin Road 6 tyres, providing excellent grip and stability, making it a versatile choice for various road conditions.

Possible India Launch and Rivals

While there is no confirmation yet on whether Husqvarna will bring the Vitpilen 801 to India, the motorcycle is expected to compete with models like the Triumph Street Triple R and the Kawasaki Z900 if it does. The Vitpilen 801’s combination of advanced technology, aggressive design, and powerful performance would make it a strong contender in the premium roadster segment.

The Husqvarna Vitpilen 801 offers an exciting blend of style, technology, and performance, building on the foundation laid by the Svartpilen 801. With its aggressive ergonomics, powerful 799cc engine, and cutting-edge electronics, the Vitpilen 801 is poised to attract riders looking for a modern roadster with a distinctive edge.
