Key Updates to the 2025 Kawasaki Z900:
Slight Reduction in Power: To meet updated emission norms, peak output has decreased slightly. The Z900 now produces 123hp at 9,500rpm and 97.4Nm of torque at 7,700rpm, down from the current 125hp and 98.6Nm.
Weight and Dimensions
The base Z900 weighs 213kg, while the SE variant is 214kg. Seat height has increased to 830mm, up 10mm from the previous model.
India Launch Expected in 2024 The current price for the Z900 in India is Rs 9.38 lakh, and the 2025 version is expected to see a small price increase ith the new features.
Styling and Features
The 2025 Z900 adopts more angular styling, matching Kawasaki’s latest Z design philosophy. The headlight mirrors that of the Z500 and Z7 Hybrid, and the bike’s signature Z-shaped tail light has been replaced with a new angular design. The updated side panels feature brushed metal accents and the Z logo.
In terms of electronics
Kawasaki has added several features to the Z900:
Ride-by-wire, powered by an IMU (inertial measurement unit).
Two power modes (Full and Low) and three levels of traction control, which can be disabled.
Bidirectional quickshifter, cruise control, and dual-channel ABS.
A new 5-inch TFT dash with smartphone and headset connectivity for voice commands.
Mechanical Changes
The 948cc inline-four engine remains largely the same, though it now complies with Euro 5+ emission standards. New front brake calipers from Nissin and upgraded Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tires enhance handling and stopping power. The base model retains its 41mm USD fork and monoshock, both adjustable for rebound and preload.
The Z900 SE variant adds high-spec KYB forks, an Ohlins S46 monoshock, and Brembo M4.32 calipers.
India Launch and Competition
The Z900 is a popular model for Kawasaki in India, making it likely that the updated 2025 version will launch here. Currently, the base model costs Rs 9.38 lakh, and the added features may lead to a slight price increase. Although Kawasaki has yet to offer the SE variant in India, the updated Z900 will continue to compete with models like the Triumph Street Triple R and Ducati Monster.
