Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX Launched in India at Rs 13.49 Lakh

News Story

Kawasaki has officially launched the Ninja 1100SX in India, with an ex-showroom price of Rs 13.49 lakh. The new Ninja 1100SX is available only in its standard variant, offering a unique set of features and enhancements compared to its predecessor, the Ninja 1000SX.

Ninja 1100SX: Performance and Powertrain
Powering the Ninja 1100SX is a liquid-cooled, 1,099cc inline-four engine, producing 136hp at 9,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 7,600rpm. While it is slightly less powerful than the Ninja 1000SX—with a decrease of 6hp—it offers 2Nm more torque, which translates to better low-end performance.

Additionally, Kawasaki has upgraded the 5th and 6th gears to enhance the bike’s highway cruising performance. These longer gears help reduce engine rpm during long-distance rides, improving fuel efficiency and making the bike more comfortable for extended touring.

Chassis and Features
The chassis of the Ninja 1100SX closely resembles that of the Ninja 1000SX, with the only noticeable difference being a slightly larger rear disc brake (by 10mm). As for its electronics, the Ninja 1100SX retains the advanced suite from its predecessor, which includes power modes, riding modes, traction control, bidirectional quick-shifter, and cruise control.

This combination of features provides a balance of performance and convenience, making the Ninja 1100SX an excellent option for long-distance riders who enjoy both touring and spirited riding.

Price and Availability
The Ninja 1100SX is priced at Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India), making it a competitive option in the litre-class motorcycle segment. Kawasaki has opted not to bring the up-spec SE version with Ohlins suspension and Brembo brakes to India at the moment. For now, the standard variant is the only version available in the country.

Deliveries for the Ninja 1100SX will begin in January 2025, and bookings are now open at all authorized Kawasaki dealerships for a token amount of Rs 50,000.

Competition and Rivals
While there is no direct competitor to the Ninja 1100SX in India, the Triumph Tiger 900 GT is a road-focused alternative priced at Rs 13.95 lakh. However, the Ninja 1100SX stands out with its unique combination of sports-tourer performance and comfort for long-distance touring.

The Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX offers an exciting blend of power, touring comfort, and advanced features. With improved highway cruising capabilities and a more torquey engine, it fills the gap left by the Ninja 1000SX and provides an attractive option for enthusiasts looking for a high-performance, comfortable tourer. Bookings are open now, and deliveries are expected to commence in January 2025.
