Kawasaki unveils the Z650 S

News Story

The 2026 Kawasaki Z650 S brings fresh design and improved ergonomics to the popular middleweight naked roadster segment. It features aggressive new styling inspired by the Z900, including a sharp 3-lamp LED headlight and beefier tank shrouds. Ergonomic upgrades include a wider handlebar by 30mm, repositioned footpegs, and a rider seat that’s about 15mm taller, creating a more comfortable riding position. The pillion seat has been widened by 20mm with additional padding for better passenger comfort.

The bike retains the proven 649cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine, delivering around 68 hp and 64 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an assist & slipper clutch. It features twin 300mm front discs and a 220mm rear disc with Continental ABS for effective braking. Suspension remains consistent with a conventional telescopic fork in front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear.

Tech upgrades include a larger 4.3-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology app, allowing riders to receive phone and SMS notifications. The Z650 S introduces Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) with three modes and offers an optional quickshifter for smoother gear changes. Available in three new colors, its blend of style, comfort, and modern tech marks a refined iteration aimed at both new and experienced riders. Pricing and Indian availability are expected to be revealed soon.
