News Story
The Royal Enfield Bear 650 introduces a fresh identity to the Royal Enfield lineup, based on the popular 650cc platform but reimagined with unique scrambler-specific features. Although it shares similarities with the Interceptor 650, the Bear 650 stands out with upgraded elements tailored for light off-road performance and increased comfort.
Distinctive Wheel Sizes and Enhanced Suspension for Scrambler Performance
Unlike its sibling models, the Royal Enfield Bear 650 offers different wheel sizes and suspension to achieve the scrambler stance. This motorcycle switches from the 18-inch front and rear wheels of the Interceptor to a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear configuration, suitable for rugged terrains. Additionally, the Showa USD fork, similar to the one on the Shotgun, and updated rear shock absorbers allow for increased suspension travel of 130mm in the front and 115mm in the rear. As a result, the seat height is now 830mm, making it the tallest model in the 650cc range.
Upgraded Braking System and Block-Pattern Tires
The Bear 650 comes with MRF Nylorex block-pattern tires specifically designed for a scrambler setup, fitted on spoked wheels. The front brake remains a 320mm disc, while the rear disc has increased from 240mm to 270mm for stronger braking performance. The dual-channel ABS can be turned off at the rear, giving the rider more control on off-road paths.
Enhanced Torque with a New Two-Into-One Exhaust System
Powered by the familiar 648cc parallel-twin engine, the Bear 650 has introduced a major improvement in torque output. The shift from dual exhaust pipes to a single right-side two-into-one exhaust increases the torque to 56.5Nm at 5150rpm, up from 52Nm. Peak power remains consistent at 47hp at 7250rpm, delivering ample strength for both city and off-road riding.
A Unique Design and Stance
The Bear 650’s design elements make it stand out among other Royal Enfield 650s. It showcases a distinctive scrambler seat that angles upward at the rear, providing both a unique look and added comfort. The round LED headlamp and taillamp enhance visibility and style, while the LED indicators add a modern touch. Extra design details, such as side-mounted competition number boards and increased ground clearance of 184mm, reinforce its off-road capabilities.
Modern TFT Display and New Switchgear
This scrambler comes equipped with the new circular TFT display, replacing the dual-pod console of the Interceptor. The display offers Google Maps integration and allows for easy navigation with new switchgear, adding advanced connectivity to the Bear’s rugged functionality.
Available Colors and Launch Date
The Royal Enfield Bear 650 is available in five color options. Pricing startes from 3.39 lakh (ex-showroom delhi).
