BMW CE 02 Electric Scooter: Exports Begin by TVS

TVS Motor Co, in partnership with BMW Motorrad, has commenced the export of the BMW CE 02 electric scooter, a jointly-developed model.

FY2024 Export Wholesales

In the fiscal year 2024, TVS exported a total of 1,173 electric vehicles (EVs) overseas, including the BMW CE 02. Notably, the export figures included 249 units of the iQube electric scooter.

For March 2024, TVS exported 924 units of a product labeled as ‘BMW EV’. It can be inferred that this refers to the BMW CE 02 EV, jointly developed by TVS and BMW Motorrad.

Power and Performance

The BMW CE 02 is equipped with a 15hp motor and offers a claimed range of 90 km on a single charge. With a weight of 132kg, it boasts a top speed of 95kph.

Chassis and Components

Featuring a double-loop steel tubular frame, the CE 02 houses twin battery packs. Suspension duties are managed by a USD fork/monoshock setup. Braking is handled by a 296mm front disc with single-channel ABS.

Features and Accessories

The CE 02 comes with keyless ignition, all-LED lighting, a reverse gear, and a 3.5-inch TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity. It offers two riding modes – Surf and Flow. An optional Highline accessory pack introduces a third Flash riding mode, heated grips, and a phone mount.

In addition to the CE 02, TVS exported 249 units of its iQube electric scooter to Nepal. These exports are facilitated through Jagdamba Motors, TVS’s authorized distributor.

Sales Performance in India

The TVS iQube scooter has seen strong demand in India, with cumulative sales surpassing 3 lakh units since its launch in January 2020. In FY2024 alone, TVS sold 1,82,933 iQubes, reflecting a remarkable 125 percent year-on-year growth.

TVS exported a total of 8,87,774 units in FY2024, making it the second-largest two-wheeler exporter in India after Bajaj Auto. Exports accounted for 22 percent of its combined domestic market and export sales, totaling 4 million units.

TVS Motor products are sold in over 80 countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. In the last six months, the company has strategically expanded its presence in new markets like Nepal, Vietnam, and France.
