News Story
Triumph has officially introduced the Tiger Sport 800, an upgrade from the Tiger 850 Sport, featuring more power, advanced components, and a sleek design. This new middleweight adventure bike is designed for those who want a road-focused riding experience combined with cutting-edge features.
Powerful 798cc Engine with Enhanced Performance
The Tiger Sport 800 is powered by a new 798cc, 3-cylinder engine delivering an impressive 115hp and 84Nm of torque. This makes it more powerful than the updated Tiger 900 GT. With this robust engine, the Tiger Sport 800 offers a thrilling and responsive ride, suitable for both long trips and daily commutes.
Standard Features: Cruise Control and Quickshifter
Triumph has equipped the Tiger Sport 800 with essential features like cruise control and a bidirectional quickshifter as standard, providing smoother gear shifts and enhanced rider comfort on long journeys.
Three Riding Modes for Versatile Performance
Riders can choose from three riding modes: Sport, Road, and Rain, each designed to adapt to various road conditions and optimize performance. This versatility enhances the bike’s appeal to riders seeking adaptability across different terrains.
Lightweight Build and Spacious Fuel Tank
Weighing 214kg with a full 18.6-litre fuel tank, the Tiger Sport 800 maintains a manageable weight, making it nimble yet solid on the road. The fuel capacity allows for extended rides without frequent stops, a crucial advantage for long-distance touring.
Sporty 17-Inch Wheels and Michelin Road 5 Tires
The Tiger Sport 800 features 17-inch wheels at both ends, similar to the Tiger Sport 660 but with a more aggressive stance. It comes fitted with Michelin Road 5 tires, sized 120/70-ZR17 at the front and 180/55-ZR17 at the rear, providing excellent grip and stability.
Adjustable Showa Suspension for Customized Comfort
This adventure bike’s Showa suspension system includes a 41mm USD fork and a monoshock, both adjustable for a tailored ride. The fork can be adjusted for compression and preload, while the rear shock offers rebound and preload adjustments with a remote adjuster, giving riders the flexibility to adapt to different terrains.
Advanced Braking System with Radial Calipers
Braking is managed by Triumph-branded, radially mounted 4-piston calipers with 310mm discs at the front, and a 255mm disc at the rear. This setup ensures superior braking control, even on high-speed rides, offering a secure and reliable braking experience.
Essential Rider Aids Powered by a Six-Axis IMU
Though not overloaded with electronics, the Tiger Sport 800 includes essential aids like traction control, dual-channel ABS, and a six-axis IMU for precise, responsive intervention. These features enhance the bike’s safety without overwhelming the rider, ideal for both seasoned riders and newcomers.
User-Friendly Display and Navigation
The Tiger Sport 800 uses the same display as the Daytona 660 and Tiger Sport 660, providing clear information and easy access to all functions. The LCD screen simplifies navigating through modes and settings, making it intuitive and rider-friendly.
Available Accessories and Color Options
Triumph offers a variety of accessories for the Tiger Sport 800, including a center stand and color-matched panniers for added utility. Riders can choose from four color options: yellow, blue, black, and grey to suit their style preferences.
Expected Release and Competitive Market Position
The Tiger Sport 800 will be available globally starting March 2025. An Indian launch is anticipated in late 2025 or early 2026. Competing against models like the BMW F 900 XR, Ducati Multistrada V2, and the Kawasaki Versys 1100, the Tiger Sport 800 is expected to be priced around the same range as the Tiger 850 Sport, approximately Rs 11.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
With its Tiger Sport 800, Triumph has crafted a versatile, powerful, and feature-rich motorcycle that caters to adventure enthusiasts looking for a road-ready touring bike with style, comfort, and performance.
