News Story

Triumph’s Scrambler 1200 line-up for 2024 has just been revealed globally, and it brings some exciting updates. Notably, the base XC variant is now succeeded by a new X variant, while the range-topping XE has received comprehensive upgrades.

Shared Features
Both the X and XE models share several key features, making them solid additions to the Scrambler family. They are equipped with tubeless, spoked 21-inch front and 18-inch rear rims, which provide both rugged looks and versatility.

X Variant: More Road-Oriented
The new X variant leans more towards road-based adventures, evident in its shorter seat height, making it more accessible to a broader range of riders. With a seat height reduced to 820mm (and further to 795mm with an optional low seat accessory), Triumph has aimed to enhance comfort and convenience for riders of varying heights. This achievement is thanks, in part, to the new Marzocchi suspension units, which now offer 170mm of travel at both ends, as opposed to the previous XC model’s 200mm.

One significant hardware change is the introduction of axially mounted Nissin calipers, which clamp down on twin 310mm discs at the front, a departure from the superbike-spec M50s that the earlier XC model featured.

The X variant retains the five riding modes, including Rain, Road, Sport, Off-road, and Rider-configurable, but it now includes IMU-enabled traction control and cornering ABS for enhanced safety. The bike features a round dash similar to the Triumph 660cc models. With the optional Bluetooth module, it enables turn-by-turn navigation and notification alerts. This road-focused variant comes with Metzeler Karoo Street tires.

XE Variant: Off-Road Excellence
The XE variant, although not drastically different from the outgoing model, boasts some notable improvements. It features fully adjustable Marzocchi suspension and maintains its impressive 250mm wheel travel. The seat height remains tall at 870mm, but an optional low seat can bring it down to 845mm. The XE also stands out with the inclusion of Brembo Stylema calipers, similar to those found on the Ducati Panigale V4 S.

For the XE, Triumph offers the Off-road Pro mode, which allows riders to disable all riding aids, giving a more authentic off-road experience. This mode is in addition to the existing five riding modes. To tackle off-road terrains with confidence, the XE comes fitted with Metzeler Tourance dual-purpose tires.

Both X and XE models feature a TFT dash for controlling various technological aspects, making it user-friendly and keeping riders well-informed.

In true Triumph style, the company provides a wide range of over 70 official accessories, catering to both aesthetic enhancements and functional additions.

The 2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200 line-up offers a versatile range of options, combining classic Scrambler style with modern technology and features, ensuring that riders can confidently tackle diverse terrains and enjoy a fantastic riding experience. Whether you opt for the more road-centric X variant or the off-road-oriented XE, Triumph’s Scrambler 1200 series promises to deliver a thrilling adventure on two wheels.
