Yamaha EC-06 Electric Scooter Revealed

News Story

Yamaha has unveiled the EC-06, an electric scooter based on the River Indie platform but with distinct styling and bodywork. Mechanically similar to the Indie, the EC-06 is powered by a 4kWh fixed battery paired with a 6.7kW peak power motor, capable of reaching a top speed of 90 km/h. It offers a claimed IDC range of 160 km per charge, though charging takes approximately nine hours.

The EC-06 features a boxier, sharper design compared to the Indie’s rounded looks and has a smaller 24.5-litre underseat storage versus the Indie’s 43 litres. It comes equipped with front and rear disc brakes, a colour LCD display, LED headlights and taillights, and a built-in telematics unit for connectivity. Riders can choose from three riding modes and benefit from reverse assist for ease of maneuvering.

Manufactured entirely at the River factory in Hoskote, Karnataka, the pricing is expected to be close to the River Indie’s Rs 1.46 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru) or slightly higher. The EC-06 blends Yamaha’s design DNA with practical, city-focused electric mobility.
