BMW Motorrad has expanded its GS lineup with the introduction of the new R1300 GSA. This model builds on the R1300 GS platform, featuring significant upgrades.
Innovative Features and Technologies
The R1300 GSA is the first BMW bike to come standard with an automatic clutch system. This innovation, called Automated Shift Assistant, eliminates the need for manual clutch use during gear shifts and stops. Additionally, radar-assisted safety aids are standard, enhancing rider safety.
Powerful Engine and Performance
The R1300 GSA is powered by the same liquid-cooled, horizontally opposed 1,300cc engine as the GS. This engine produces 145hp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The Automated Shift Assistant allows for smooth and efficient gear changes, offering a seamless riding experience.
Design and Comfort Enhancements
This GSA model features a massive 30-litre fuel tank, an 11-litre increase over the standard GS, reducing the need for frequent fuel stops. The bike weighs 269kg, 32kg more than the R1300 GS. The adjustable seat height ranges from 870mm to 890mm, with options for a lower seat and suspension for shorter riders.
Variants and Customization Options
The R1300 GSA is available in four variants: Standard, Triple Black, GS Trophy, and Option 719 Karakorum. Each variant offers a high level of standard equipment. Optional accessories include electronic suspension, adaptive ride height, and Pro riding modes. BMW’s extensive accessories catalog also offers protective, luggage-carrying, and aesthetic options.
Pricing and Availability
The BMW R1300 GS is currently on sale at Rs 20.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India). When it launched, it was Rs 40,000 more expensive than the R1250 it replaced. The R1250 GSA is priced at Rs 22.50 lakh, so a similar premium is expected for the R1300 GSA.
The BMW R100 GSA combines innovative technology, powerful performance, and extensive customization options. Its automatic clutch system and radar-assisted safety features set it apart in the adventure motorcycle market. With its impressive specs and advanced features, the R1300 GSA is poised to become a popular choice among riders.
