BMW F 900 GS and F 900 GSA Teased Ahead of India Launch

News Story

BMW Motorrad India has recently teased the upcoming arrival of two new models: the F 900 GS and the F 900 GSA. Both bikes are set to enhance BMW’s lineup with their distinct focuses—off-road capability and ADV touring. These models are built on the same platform but cater to different riding styles and needs.

New 895cc Engine: More Power and Performance

BMW has upgraded the engine across both models. The new 895cc twin-cylinder motor replaces the previous 853cc engine, boosting performance significantly. This updated engine produces 105hp and 93Nm of torque, representing an increase of 10hp and 1Nm over its predecessor. This engine will power both the F 900 GS and F 900 GSA, promising improved performance and efficiency.

F 900 GS: Off-Road Focused and Agile

The F 900 GS is designed with off-road enthusiasts in mind. It features a slimmer, more agile design compared to its middleweight GS counterparts. Notably, it sports the same headlight as the G 310 GS, enhancing its off-road readiness. The F 900 GS is equipped with 21/17-inch wheels and offers a similar suspension travel to the GSA but weighs 219kg when fully fueled with its 14.5-litre tank.

F 900 GSA: Road-Biased Adventure Touring

In contrast, the F 900 GSA is aimed at road use and long-distance touring. It maintains a more traditional ADV appearance and comes with electronic suspension for enhanced ride comfort and adjustability. The GSA is substantially heavier, weighing 246kg, which is 27kg more than the F 900 GS. This additional weight contributes to its stability and comfort on long journeys.

Advanced Electronic Features and Rider Aids

Both models are packed with a full suite of electronic rider aids, including riding modes, power modes, traction control, ABS, and a bidirectional quick-shifter. All these features are managed through a 6.5-inch TFT display, which is a standard feature on most high-capacity BMW models. These advanced electronics aim to enhance rider safety and control across various riding conditions.

Pricing and Availability

The current BMW F 850 GS and F 850 GSA are priced at Rs 12.95 lakh and Rs 13.75 lakh, respectively. Given the updates and enhancements, the F 900 models are expected to be priced higher. Pre-bookings for both the F 900 GS and F 900 GSA are already open, and the official launch is anticipated soon.

Anticipating a New Era for BMW’s Middleweight Adventures

With the introduction of the F 900 GS and F 900 GSA, BMW is set to offer a new level of performance and versatility in the middleweight adventure and touring motorcycle segment. Whether you’re looking for an off-road-ready machine or a road-focused ADV tourer, these new models are designed to meet diverse riding needs and preferences.
