KTM has unveiled its flagship adventure touring model, the 1390 Super Adventure S Evo, ahead of its official debut at EICMA. As KTM’s premier road-focused ADV, this motorcycle combines a powerful 1,350cc engine with advanced electronics, including an AMT gearbox, radar-assisted safety features, and a host of riding aids.
Powerful 1,350cc V-Twin Engine with VVT Technology
At the heart of the KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo is a liquid-cooled 1,350cc V-twin engine capable of delivering 173hp and 145Nm of torque. Featuring Variable Valve Timing (VVT), this engine enhances both low-end torque and top-end power, ensuring an exhilarating yet smooth ride across various terrains.
Advanced AMT Gearbox with Manual and Auto Modes
One of the key highlights of the Super Adventure S Evo is its Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), which allows riders to switch seamlessly between manual and automatic modes. In automatic mode, the AMT handles all gear shifts, while in manual mode, riders can control shifts using paddle switches located on the left switch cube.
Enhanced Frame and WP Semi-Active Suspension
KTM has upgraded the frame on the 1390 Super Adventure S Evo to accommodate its larger engine, enhancing the frame’s stiffness for improved stability. The bike also features the latest semi-active, electronically controlled WP suspension, delivering superior handling and comfort. Complementing the suspension are 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast alloy wheels and a Brembo braking system for precise stopping power.
Comprehensive Electronics Suite with Radar Assistance
The 1390 Super Adventure S Evo is loaded with advanced electronics, making it a top-tier choice for adventure touring. The bike’s extensive list of riding aids includes multiple riding modes, traction control, a quickshifter, and dual-channel ABS. Notably, radar-assisted systems like adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, and brake assistance add a new level of safety and convenience, helping riders navigate complex traffic and road conditions with ease.
Automatic Emergency Braking
One of the standout features of the 1390 Super Adventure S Evo is its automatic emergency braking capability. Thanks to the integrated ECU that manages both the AMT and radar-based rider aids, the bike can bring itself to a halt if it detects an obstacle ahead. This feature operates without any manual intervention from the rider, providing an extra layer of safety.
New 8.8-Inch TFT Touchscreen Display
All these high-tech features are managed through KTM’s new 8.8-inch TFT touchscreen display, one of the largest dashboards available on a production motorcycle. This user-friendly interface allows riders to monitor and control all settings at a glance, enhancing convenience on long journeys.
Availability and Expected Launch
KTM will officially showcase the 1390 Super Adventure S Evo at EICMA, and it is expected to be available internationally by early 2025. While there is no confirmation yet on an India launch, this bike has already generated significant interest among adventure biking enthusiasts.
With its combination of cutting-edge technology, powerful performance, and rider-focused design, the KTM 1390 Super Adventure S Evo sets a new benchmark in the world of adventure motorcycles.
