BSA has made its entry into the adventure motorcycle segment with the unveiling of the Thunderbolt at EICMA 2025 in Milan. Sharing much of its platform with the Yezdi Adventure, the Thunderbolt is powered by a 334cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 29.2hp and 29.6Nm of torque, making it an accessible and versatile mid-capacity adventure bike.
The Thunderbolt features modern rider aids such as traction control and dual-channel ABS with three modes—Road, Rain, and Off-road—to tackle varied terrain confidently. It is equipped with a USD front fork offering 200mm of travel and a preload-adjustable monoshock with 180mm of travel at the rear, running on wire-spoke wheels sized 90/90-21 front and 130/80-17 rear. The bike weighs 185kg dry and offers a relatively low seat height of 815mm and a 15.5-litre fuel tank capacity for practical touring.
Design highlights include a tall rally-style front fender, knuckle guards, an asymmetrical twin-pod LED headlight, and a configurable instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and a USB charging port. The Thunderbolt also features a slip-and-assist clutch to ease low-speed handling and reduce rider fatigue during extended rides.
BSA has slated the Thunderbolt for an international launch in mid-2026, with expectations to bring the bike to the Indian market soon after. Positioned against rivals like the Hero Xpulse 210 and TVS Apache RTX, the Thunderbolt offers a premium, feature-rich alternative in the highly competitive light adventure motorcycle segment. Its blend of classic BSA styling cues, modern technology, and robust touring capability signals the brand’s confident return to the global touring motorcycle scene.
