Milestone and partnership
TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad have surpassed the 2 lakh–unit production milestone under their strategic alliance that began in 2013. This long-running partnership has focused on co-developing and manufacturing premium small- and mid-capacity motorcycles for markets worldwide.
F 450 GS production begins
Coinciding with this milestone, TVS has commenced production of the new BMW F 450 GS at its Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu. The adventure motorcycle will be built in India for both domestic and export markets, further cementing Hosur’s role as a global manufacturing hub for BMW’s sub‑500cc and new mid-capacity models.
Success of earlier models
Earlier products from the TVS–BMW collaboration include the BMW G 310 R, G 310 GS and G 310 RR, all manufactured at the same Hosur facility. These entry-premium models have become key volume drivers for BMW Motorrad in over 100 markets, helping build the foundation for more ambitious projects like the F 450 GS.
New entry to GS line-up
The production-spec BMW F 450 GS made its global debut at EICMA 2025 and now becomes the new entry point into BMW’s GS adventure line-up after the discontinuation of the G 310 GS. It is powered by a newly developed 420cc parallel-twin engine producing 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm, designed to balance performance with long-distance usability.
India launch status
BMW and TVS have not yet officially announced the India launch date or pricing for the F 450 GS. An announcement is expected in the coming months, and the bike is widely anticipated to target riders looking for a globally engineered, locally built mid-capacity adventure motorcycle.
