2025 Ducati Streetfighter V2, V2 S Launched In India From ₹17.50 Lakh As Ducati’s Lightest-Ever Streetfighter

News Story

Ducati has launched the 2025 Streetfighter V2 in India, introducing a lighter, more focused evolution of its middleweight naked sports bike lineup. The new model arrives in two variants, with a clear gap in hardware and electronics between the standard V2 and the higher-spec V2 S.

Price and variants
The 2025 Ducati Streetfighter V2 is priced at ₹17.50 lakh for the standard variant, while the Streetfighter V2 S commands ₹19.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Both versions are positioned as premium middleweight nakeds, sitting above rivals like the Kawasaki Z900 and Triumph Street Triple RS in terms of pricing.

Engine and performance
Powering the Streetfighter V2 is Ducati’s new 890cc V‑twin engine, which produces 120 hp at 10,750 rpm and 93.3 Nm at 8,250 rpm. Although it makes about 30 hp less than the outgoing 955cc unit, the new motor weighs just 54.4 kg, making it Ducati’s lightest twin-cylinder engine and strongly boosting overall agility.

Weight and chassis
Thanks to the compact new engine and lightweight chassis components, the standard Streetfighter V2 weighs 178 kg without fuel, while the V2 S drops that further to 175 kg dry, making it the lightest Streetfighter Ducati has built so far. Both bikes use a monocoque frame with the engine as a stressed member, contributing to centralised mass and sharp handling.

Suspension, tyres and hardware
The base Streetfighter V2 gets a fully adjustable Marzocchi USD fork up front and a KYB rear monoshock, while the V2 S upgrades to fully adjustable Öhlins NIX 30 forks and an Öhlins rear shock. Both variants feature a Sachs steering damper and run Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres in 120/70 front and 190/55 rear sizes for high-grip road and track use.

Electronics and riding modes
A 6-axis IMU underpins the electronics package, enabling cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control and a bi-directional quickshifter. Four riding modes – Race, Sport, Road and Wet – are managed via a 5‑inch TFT display, while the V2 S additionally gets launch control and a pit limiter as standard, with these features offered as options on the standard bike.

Market positioning
In India, the Streetfighter V2 competes with high-performance nakeds like the Kawasaki Z900 and Triumph Street Triple RS but sits considerably higher on price, starting at ₹17.50 lakh against their sub-₹13 lakh tags. Ducati is clearly pitching the Streetfighter V2 as a more exotic, electronics-rich and lightweight alternative for riders who want superbike DNA in a street-focused package.
