Bajaj Auto has announced an aggressive product offensive, confirming plans to launch 10 new two-wheeler models over the next six weeks. The line-up will include two all-new Pulsar motorcycles in the 125cc and 150cc segments, along with additional variants of the Chetak electric scooter.
The upcoming launches are part of a wider portfolio refresh aimed at strengthening Bajaj’s position in the domestic 125cc-plus motorcycle market. Joint managing director Rakesh Sharma described the planned products as “very interesting launches” that could help the company enter new segments.
New Pulsar models in development
Among the most anticipated launches are the next-generation Pulsar 125 and a new Pulsar 150. The Pulsar 125 has already been spotted testing on Indian roads on several occasions, while a recent teaser has further fuelled speculation about the first upcoming model.
The new motorcycles are expected to retain the familiar Pulsar identity while receiving updates to their design, features, chassis, and overall equipment. Bajaj is also expected to introduce more Chetak variants as it continues to expand its electric scooter portfolio.
Production capacity to cross 9 million units
To support its product expansion, Bajaj Auto plans to increase annual manufacturing capacity from approximately 7.2 million units to more than 9 million units. This represents an increase of over 25 percent and will be implemented progressively over the next several quarters.
The expansion will combine brownfield upgrades at existing facilities with a new greenfield plant, although the location of the new facility has not yet been finalised. Additional capacity will primarily support electric two-wheelers, electric three-wheelers, premium motorcycles, and selected internal-combustion-engine three-wheelers.
Strong financial performance
The announcement follows Bajaj Auto’s strong Q1 FY27 performance. Revenue from operations rose 37 percent year on year to Rs 17,244 crore, while total vehicle sales reached a record 1.44 million units. Exports also increased by 52 percent, reaching their highest-ever quarterly level.
Bajaj’s upcoming launches and capacity expansion are aligned with its broader FY27 strategy, which focuses on growing the domestic 125cc-plus motorcycle business, expanding the Chetak EV range, and increasing exports. The first wave of new products is expected to arrive ahead of the festive season.
