Ducati has unveiled the Desmo450 MX Factory, a track-focused evolution of its 450cc motocrosser one year after the standard model’s debut. This premium variant packs competition-ready upgrades for serious riders chasing MXGP-level performance.
Key Specs and Upgrades
Ultra-Light Build: 104kg kerb weight (ready-to-ride, no fuel) thanks to an 8.95kg aluminum perimeter frame, billet triple clamps, and a titanium Akrapovic exhaust that shaves 1.7kg while boosting throttle response and mid-range punch.
Desmo Engine Power: 450cc single-cylinder with Desmodromic valve timing delivers 63.5hp at 9,400rpm and 53.5Nm at 7,500rpm—70% peak torque from just 4,200rpm, revving to 11,900rpm.
Premium Suspension and Brakes: Fully adjustable Showa setup with Dark Kashima coating and titanium oxide internals; Brembo calipers with Galfer discs for razor-sharp stopping.
Electronics and Durability
Advanced aids include Ducati Traction Control, Launch Control, Engine Brake Control, Quickshifter, and two customizable Riding Modes, all tunable via the X-Link app over built-in WiFi. Built for racing, it offers 45-hour piston intervals and 90-hour full overhauls.
Sporting the Ducati Corse MXGP livery, it’s now available at select European dealers, with North America next and global rollout to follow. Ducati Performance parts and Drudi Performance apparel let riders match the factory MXGP machines. Ideal for pro-am racers seeking Desmo precision in the 450cc class.
