Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera revealed with blacked-out design and standard quickshifter

News Story

Ducati has revealed the new Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera for overseas markets, expanding its single-cylinder supermoto lineup with a darker, more premium-looking version. The new variant will go on sale in European dealerships from June 2026 and adds a black-and-red livery, extra equipment, and cosmetic updates to the already aggressive Hypermotard 698 Mono family.

The biggest visual change is the new “Nera” treatment, which gives the motorcycle an all-black look contrasted by Ducati Red wheels and frame. Ducati has also fitted homologated Termignoni silencers with black-finished end cans and red detailing, while Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up/Down now comes as standard equipment.

Powering the motorcycle is Ducati’s 659cc Superquadro Mono engine, which produces 77.5hp and revs to 10,250rpm. The engine is derived from the 1299 Panigale’s twin-cylinder platform and uses Ducati’s Desmodromic valve timing system, along with several technologies carried over from the superbike world. Ducati says the Hypermotard 698 Mono weighs 151kg ready-to-ride without fuel, keeping it extremely light for a road-focused performance machine.

The electronics package is also comprehensive for a single-cylinder supermoto. It includes cornering ABS with Slide-by-Brake function, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, launch control, and multiple riding modes. Ducati even offers a racing Termignoni exhaust for track use, which adds 7hp to the output.

In Europe, the Hypermotard 698 Mono Nera is priced at EUR 13,990, which works out to about Rs 15.61 lakh at current exchange rates. Ducati has not yet confirmed whether the model will be launched in India, but the new variant completes the Hypermotard 698 Mono lineup with a more striking and premium visual identity.
