Harley-Davidson has expanded its cruiser range with the new Deadwood, a factory-built bobber-inspired motorcycle that draws design inspiration from stripped-down Harley-Davidsons popular in the post-World War II era. The model will be sold exclusively in the United States and Canada, with prices starting at USD 17,999, equivalent to approximately Rs 17.32 lakh before taxes.

The Deadwood will make its public debut at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally on August 7, before arriving at dealerships in North America. The motorcycle’s name references Deadwood, a community in South Dakota’s Black Hills region near the Sturgis rally.

Blacked-out bobber design
The Deadwood features an almost entirely blacked-out appearance. Its engine, exhaust, handlebar, front fork, wheels, and lighting are finished in black, while chrome detailing is limited to the lower rocker covers and pushrod tubes. Denim Black is the only paint option.

The styling is built around a solo tuck-and-roll seat, wire-spoke wheels, a chopped windscreen, and a hardtail-inspired rear section without saddlebags. Harley-Davidson claims a seat height of around 648mm, making the Deadwood one of the lowest motorcycles in the company’s current line-up.

Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine
Power comes from Harley-Davidson’s 1,923cc Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-twin, which produces 98hp and 163Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and a 2-into-1 exhaust system. Customers can further upgrade the motorcycle with Harley-Davidson’s Screamin’ Eagle performance parts.

The Deadwood is based on Harley-Davidson’s Softail platform, which uses a hidden rear monoshock to retain the visual appearance of a traditional hardtail motorcycle. Suspension equipment includes a 49mm front fork and preload-adjustable rear suspension.

Modern electronics package
Despite its retro-inspired appearance, the Deadwood gets a comprehensive electronics package. It includes:

Cornering ABS.

Cornering traction control.

Drag-torque slip control.

Tyre-pressure monitoring system.

Road, Sport, and Rain riding modes.

All-LED lighting.

USB-C charging.

The motorcycle also features a 5-inch analogue instrument cluster with an LCD display, combining traditional styling with modern functionality.

The 2026 Harley-Davidson Deadwood is aimed at riders who want classic bobber design, a low seat height, and a strong V-twin experience without giving up contemporary rider aids. For now, Harley-Davidson has confirmed the model only for the US and Canadian markets.
