Honda CB1000 Hornet SP recalled over fuel hose and engine oil issues

News Story

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has announced a voluntary recall for the CB1000 Hornet SP in India to address two potential technical issues. The recall covers motorcycles manufactured between September 30, 2024 and August 22, 2025, and affected units will be inspected and rectified free of cost at BigWing Topline dealerships across the country.

The first issue relates to the routing of the fuel feed hose, which may need inspection to ensure it remains properly secured under certain conditions. The second issue concerns engine oil consumption, which may vary because of the characteristics of some internal components and could require corrective action to maintain optimal engine performance.

As part of the campaign, Honda will correct the fuel hose routing and, where necessary, replace affected engine components. The company has said the repairs will be carried out regardless of warranty status, making the recall applicable to all affected motorcycles.

Customers with impacted units will be contacted by BigWing Topline dealerships through phone, SMS, or e-mail starting from the announcement date. The recall is a precautionary move, but it highlights Honda’s intent to address the issue early and ensure the motorcycle continues to perform as intended.

The Honda CB1000 Hornet SP is priced at Rs 13.29 lakh ex-showroom in India. It comes with dual-channel ABS, disc brakes at both ends, a 1455mm wheelbase, and standard features including a clock and turn indicators.
