Triumph launches Tiger 900 Alpine and Desert editions in India from Rs 15.35 lakh

News Story

Triumph has launched two new special editions of the Tiger 900 in India: the Alpine Edition and the Desert Edition, priced at Rs 15.35 lakh and Rs 16.05 lakh respectively, ex-showroom. Both models were previously revealed overseas and now arrive in India with unique paint schemes, factory-fitted accessories, and Akrapovic exhausts.

The Tiger 900 Alpine Edition is the more road- and touring-focused of the two. It is based on the GT Pro and gets a Snowdonia White and Sapphire Black colour scheme with blue accents, along with touring-oriented detailing and an Akrapovic exhaust. Triumph has positioned it as a premium option for riders who want long-distance comfort with a more distinctive appearance.

The Tiger 900 Desert Edition, meanwhile, is aimed at riders who want a more rugged, off-road-ready machine. Based on the Rally Pro, it gets Baja Orange highlights, additional protective equipment, adventure-focused styling elements, and an Akrapovic silencer. This gives it a tougher look and a more trail-friendly personality compared with the Alpine variant.

Both motorcycles continue to use Triumph’s 888cc inline-three-cylinder liquid-cooled T-Plane engine, which produces 108hp at 9,500rpm and 90Nm at 6,850rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and bi-directional quickshifter, keeping performance identical to the standard Tiger 900 range.

The pricing strategy is interesting. The Alpine Edition costs Rs 95,000 more than the standard GT, while the Desert Edition is actually Rs 10,000 cheaper than the Rally Pro donor model, despite adding special styling, extra protection, and the Akrapovic exhaust. That makes the Desert Edition particularly notable for buyers who want a loaded adventure bike without paying more than the standard flagship variant.

The Tiger 900 lineup continues to offer premium suspension, TFT instrumentation, multiple riding modes, and a strong electronics package. With these two new editions, Triumph is clearly adding more choice and character to the adventure segment while keeping the mechanical package familiar.
